Travel to Nakhon Pathom, Where The Tallest Buddhist Temple is

Nakhon Pathom is located 56 km west of Bangkok. Nakhon Pathom is claimed as the oldest city in Thailand, Nakhon Pathom name come from Pali ‘Nagara Patama’ which means the First City. Nakhon Pathom city looks quite sleepy but you can easily see daily activities of Thai people life. In addition, Nakhon Pathom also has ancient religious sturucture called Phra Pathom Chedil, fruits and abundant food.

In the middle of Nakhon Pathom there is a Chedi. Chedi is the tallest Buddhist temple in the world. Chedi is a popular place for local people to eat, talk and lie down to relieve tired and exhausted. In late November, there was a big party at the Nakhon Pathom which takes duration for 10 days. At the party there are various food and game stalls are located outside of Chedi and people with happiness to play and pay homage to the monument. If you wanted to walk around the city, you will not get lost because you will always see the Chedi towers as the midpoint.

Transport in the city of Nakhon Pathom has no bus station, but you can use transport that arrives and departs from near the market and train station in the city. To visit Nakhon Pathom, you can use Air-con bus 83 and 997 that departed from Thonburi. To return to Bangkok you can also use bus at the Phayaphan, about a block from the train station.
